Apparently, there are now regular - monthly - Comedy on the Common nights. This takes place at the rugby club, which looks surprisingly comfortable inside and has a bar.
I haven't been to see the comedy myself yet, but Plumsteadshire blog and others have mentioned this and said that it is very good. The last one was last weekend.
