Well done - I'd given up on the old forum. Found this by chance. Perhaps you could plu this forum on your blog and get Plumsteadshire to do the same? Just a thought.

Have you tried to recruit people who are interested in local history? I have a question for anyone who might be interested in the history of the local put called The Volunteer. Does anyone know when it was built or who it's owners were? My great great grandfather was a beer shop keeper there in 1866 and I would love to know more about Plumstead at that time including the history of The Volunteer.

I am considering moving to Plumstead. There are new flats being built just behind the station and I am considering reserving a flat. But what I want to know is what is Plumstead like as an area? I've heard that woolwich is not a great area but I believe there are good and bad parts of all areas. What is the retail therapy like here and where is the nearest supermarket? I live with my partner and we are in our mid 20's. In a few years we probably get married and have some children. Is this a good area to bring up kids? Like schools, churches and stuff.
